Message Our Technical TeamWhat to look for when renting a game server
Very different things are sold under the same price tag. When you compare providers, these four points matter more than the monthly fee.
-
Clock speed matters more than core count
The main loop of games such as Minecraft, Rust and Project Zomboid runs on a single core. A 16-core server at a low clock speed delivers worse TPS than a 4-core server at a high one. Every one of our plans runs on high-frequency Ryzen 9 hardware.
-
Size your RAM by your mods, not by your player count
A vanilla Minecraft server carries 30 players on 8 GB. A 150-mod modpack wants 16 GB for just 10 players. The same holds for Ark and Project Zomboid: the load comes from world size and mod count, not from players.
-
DDoS protection has to work at the game layer
Game servers are mostly attacked over UDP, and conventional web filters never catch it. AnkArmor is tuned to game protocols, stops the attack before it reaches your server and costs nothing extra.

Check what the panel actually lets you do
Our web panel lets you switch server versions, install plugins and mods, edit configuration files, take automatic backups and type live commands into the console. If you want deeper access, a VDS with full root is always an option.
