How to Launch a FiveM Roleplay Server
Bringing your own FiveM roleplay server to life is far easier than it looks. Once you complete your FiveM server order, you log in to your web panel and spin the server up within minutes. The first step is choosing the framework that will form the backbone of your RP city: the vast majority of the community today relies on the QBCore or ESX base. These frameworks ship core RP mechanics such as job systems, inventory, vehicle management and economy out of the box, and you personalise your city by layering your own resources on top.

On RP servers, the decisive performance factor is not the total core count but single-core speed. FiveM's main game loop (the server thread) runs on a single core, so what prevents freezes and tick-rate drops in a busy downtown where dozens of players interact at once is your processor's high clock speed. That is exactly why we chose AMD Ryzen 9 processors across every package: high IPC and high frequency deliver a smooth server tick rate even under heavy script load. NVMe SSD storage, in turn, guarantees that player data and maps load instantly.
An active RP community is unfortunately also a frequent target of DDoS attacks. Rival servers or disruptive players regularly launch volumetric attacks to bring your city down. AnkSOFT FiveM servers filter these attacks before your players ever notice, using a Game Firewall tuned specifically for game traffic together with DDoS protection operating at the L3/L4 layer. That way your community keeps playing uninterrupted while you focus on growing your city.
Frequently Asked
Questions
Server Sizing: Which Package Fits You?
Choosing the right package protects your budget while giving players a smooth experience. Based on your community size and script load, here are our recommendations:
- Small RP Server — Starter For a newly launched RP city, a friends-only test setup or a low-population server, 8 GB RAM and 3 cores is comfortably enough. A clean QBCore/ESX install with mid-level resources gets you off to a smooth start.
- Mid-Sized Community — Performance For an active, growing community with regular concurrent players, the Performance package with 10 GB RAM strikes the ideal balance. Ryzen 9 power keeps the tick rate stable under more resources and custom job systems.
- Big-City RP — Extreme For high-population projects with heavy scripts and custom maps (MLOs), the Extreme package with 16 GB RAM and 6 cores is the right choice. It sustains a stable server tick rate even in crowded downtown areas.
QBCore or ESX?
Two core frameworks dominate the FiveM RP world. ESX is the mature classic with a vast, long-established plugin ecosystem; finding ready-made scripts and community support is easy. QBCore is the more modern, modular option focused on up-to-date RP mechanics (advanced inventory, a metadata system, clean code structure), and it has surged in popularity in recent years. Both frameworks are fully compatible with our servers and install with a single click from our web panel. Base your choice on your community's experience level and the RP mechanics you want to build, or upload your own custom framework via FTP in seconds.

ESX
- The mature framework used for years; the largest archive of ready scripts.
- Community support and tutorials are easy to find.
- A fast start for classic RP mechanics; friendly to newcomers.
QBCore
- Modular and current: advanced inventory, metadata system, clean code.
- Most modern RP servers now build on it.
- Open to customisation; ideal for teams writing their own scripts.
